My own move was supposed to be the easy kind. Five miles. Eight weeks of notice. I’d done this before.

Then it was Saturday morning at Home Depot, guessing how many boxes I’d need — then back again the next weekend because I’d guessed low, then a third time because I guessed low again. I taped and labeled them in the garage in a system that made sense right up until it didn’t, and the corners went soft from a rainy load-out.

Then came the part nobody warns you about: taking it all apart. Weeks of breaking down boxes and feeding them into the recycling bin a stack at a time, because they never all fit. The move took a weekend. The cardboard took the rest of the spring.

There had to be a cleaner option. The few in Kansas City were either pickup-only — which defeats the point — or built for a national franchise rather than a local family.

So I built the version I wanted: clean reusable totes, delivered to your door, picked up when you’re done. Local. Honest. On time.
