Moving box rental for a Kansas City apartment
Renting moving boxes for an apartment works like this: we deliver empty reusable totes, you pack and move them, and we collect them after you unpack. ReadyCrate serves Johnson County on the Kansas side of Kansas City. Confirm both addresses and your building’s delivery access before booking.

Can rental boxes be delivered to my apartment?
Apartment delivery needs an agreed handoff location. Our usual drop-off is a garage, porch, or driveway; inside delivery requires clear access with no stairs. Tell us about your floor, stairs, and secured entrance so we can confirm the arrangement. Box rental does not include carrying your packed belongings to the new apartment.
Ask both property managers about these four things:
Keys and timing
Get the key pickup time and allowed moving hours. Ask who can let you in if the office closes before you arrive.
Elevator and stairs
Reserve the elevator if required. Check for steps between the unloading spot and elevator; a dolly needs a clear, level route.
Parking and loading
Confirm the unloading spot, time limit, and garage height clearance. Box delivery and moving day may need separate arrangements.
Building paperwork
Ask whether your movers need to supply insurance paperwork or book a loading dock. Send them the requirements before moving day.
Building rules vary. U-Haul’s apartment guide also flags elevator reservations and parking restrictions.
Build the rental around three dates
Box delivery
Pick an available delivery slot before moving day, with enough time to pack. Someone 18 or older must be there to accept the totes.
The move
Leave room in the rental period to unpack afterward. Receiving boxes early gives you more packing time but fewer days at the new place.
Empty-box pickup
Arrange access at the new address. A locked lobby or an office that closes early can make a pickup time unworkable.
A gap between leases uses rental days too. Plan where your packed boxes will stay; if they’ll sit in storage for months, buying may cost less. Use the Kansas City moving checklist for the wider timeline.

Make room to unpack before pickup
In a small apartment, empty one tote at a time and nest the empties with their lids open. Keep the return stack inside your unit, out of shared hallways.
Check under packing paper for small items before returning the totes. If unpacking runs late, contact us before pickup day to ask about an extension. Extra-week prices are listed above.
Check both addresses before booking
Check delivery and pickup coverage at your old and new apartments. A Kansas City mailing address alone doesn’t confirm service. For locations outside our listed area, ask us first.
